How Much Lactose is in My Food?
It’s hard being lactose intolerant. It’s even harder being lactose intolerant AND choosing to be responsible about your dairy intake instead of chugging milkshakes and lattes with reckless abandon.
Even if you wanted to know how much lactose there is in the ice cream you’re about to eat, the information you find online is usually not very clear. How much milk is a cup of milk, really? Is a bar of chocolate supposed to be a standardized unit of measurement? How much cheese can I eat before I need to start planning the shortest route to the toilet?
Here at Milk Medic, we understand your pain. That’s why we set out to create something that’s actually helpful and usable to people who aren’t professional bakers who know exactly how many grams of butter is in a level tablespoon.
Here it is! The first version of our lactose chart. We hope it helps to remind you when it’s time to take your Milk Medic! If you have any suggestions or requests for us to improve it, please email saycheese@milkmedic.net, we’d love to hear from you!
